Brown Pralines and Sweets Celebrates Official Ribbon
Cutting in Boston, Georgia

Boston, GA – The Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce, along with local
business owners and community members, gathered on Wednesday, October 15, to
celebrate the official ribbon cutting of Brown Pralines and Sweets, Boston’s newest
destination for handcrafted Southern confections.

Located at 107 S. Main Street in downtown Boston, the store has quickly become a local
favorite, offering over 200 types of candies, handmade pralines made with pecans from the
family’s own farm, retro sweets, TikTok favorites, and rich chocolates—all served in a vibrant,
family-friendly atmosphere.

The event marked a special moment for Founder and CEO Timothy Brown, whose vision for
the shop was inspired by his mother, Merita Mitchell Brown, a retired educator, and his late
grandmother, Mattie Lee Mitchell, both Boston natives whose legacy of love and community
continues to shape the family’s ventures.

“The heart of Brown Pralines and Sweets is family and legacy,” said Brown. “To see my
parents standing on each side of the ribbon, surrounded by friends, neighbors, and local
leaders, was truly a full-circle moment for our family and this community.”

Guests at the event enjoyed complimentary samples, photo opportunities, and a first-hand
look inside the visually stunning candy store that merges nostalgia with modern flair. The
Chamber of Commerce presented Brown Pralines and Sweets with a ceremonial certificate,
officially welcoming the business to the Boston Main Street family.

Brown Pralines and Sweets is open seven days a week and offers a cashless, interactive
shopping experience where candy is made fresh in front of customers—bringing sweetness,
creativity, and a sense of community to every visit.
