Yuletide Champagne Evening Tours offered at Pebble Hill
The holiday season delights the senses—glowing lights, fragrant evergreens, and the familiar melodies of favorite carols. Yet in the rush of modern life, the true magic of the season can slip quietly away. At Pebble Hill Plantation, that magic is restored. This winter, the historic estate invites guests to slow down, step back in time, and enjoy the holidays as the Hanna and Ireland families once did: with beauty, warmth, and celebration.
Celebrating its 43rd year as a museum, Pebble Hill Plantation opens its doors to visitors for a series of cherished Yuletide traditions, including the return of the Champagne Evening Tours, one of the estate’s most beloved holiday experiences.
The Yuletide Season Champagne Evening Tours, offered December 4 and 5, welcome guests with a glass of champagne at the West Entrance before they embark on a guided candlelit tour of the Main House. Each room glows with festive décor—fragrant greenery, handmade ornaments, and twinkling lights that highlight the home’s extensive collection of art and antiques.
Live musicians will be stationed throughout the House. Visitors stroll through holiday-adorned rooms, including displays of cherished family heirlooms. Among the highlights is a wooden rocking horse gifted to Pansy Ireland Poe by descendants of President Thomas Jefferson—a treasured symbol of both history and holiday whimsy.
This season, let Pebble Hill rekindle your sense of wonder. Wander the halls, sip champagne, create something beautiful, and rediscover the sparkle of a Southern Christmas steeped in tradition.

For those seeking a deeper look into Pebble Hill’s Christmas past, “Behind the Ropes” Tours—also on December 11 and 12—provide rare access to areas of the Main House not included in standard tours. Led by Museum Curator Lori Curtis and Executive Director Whitney White, these intimate experiences offer personal stories about the Hanna family’s holiday traditions, cherished toys, ornaments, and the celebrations that shaped Christmas at Pebble Hill.
