Chamber Mission:
To connect business and build community through perspectives of the past, value of today and imagination for tomorrow.

The Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce is proud to serve the needs of Thomasville and Thomas County’s diverse business community. With such a large and active membership, this is no small task and would not be possible without the active involvement and support of the Chamber Ambassadors Program.

Ambassador Duties/Responsibilities:
The Chamber Ambassadors Program consists of a group of professional volunteers from local businesses and various backgrounds that serve as the outreach arm of the Chamber and is highly visible in the community. Ambassadors help promote and support Chamber functions. The Ambassadors act as representatives on behalf of the Chamber at not only Chamber events, but other community events as well.

Examples of Ambassador tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting and welcoming new and current Chamber members and introducing them to other members at Chamber events
- Attending Ribbon Cuttings as an official representative of the Chamber
- Mentoring new members by encouraging their participation in Chamber events
- Helping to educate and assist new, current and potential members about the benefits and services of Chamber membership
- Make new member welcome calls, follow-up calls, and visits

Requirements
- Must be a Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce Member in good standing
- Complete and return the Ambassador application
- Make a 1-year commitment to the Ambassador Program (January – December)
- Meet once per quarter as a committee
- Possess a working knowledge of the Chamber, staff members and planning committees
- Fully paid sponsorship fee

Sponsorship Fees
The sponsorship fee for each Ambassador is $500 per year. This fee will include a name badge, any required Ambassador attire, a professional headshot, a feature video, four quarterly networking and professional development lunches each year, and any other costs associated with serving as an Ambassador. We believe the value to a sponsoring organization will be worth far more than the sponsorship fee. Payment is due within 30 days of signing the Ambassador agreement and is non-refundable. If an individual leaves the employment of a business which has paid the sponsorship fee during the Ambassador’s one-year term, there will be no refunds from the Chamber.

Attendance
Becoming an Ambassador requires attending as many events as possible. It is very important to have supportive employers that wholeheartedly give their approval by allowing their employees the opportunity to serve in this capacity. If an ambassador does not perform his or her volunteer responsibilities, the Chamber will evaluate the position and replace the Ambassador with another volunteer. Hours of commitment are estimated at 4-6 hours per month.

Term of Office
Ambassadors will serve for one year of service with the option to extend to a second year, if desired. However, Ambassadors will be required to reapply each year to be considered and will be chosen by the Selection Committee.

Meetings
Quarterly lunch meetings will be held at the Chamber. Meetings are held to discuss how to best steward and cultivate relationships of potential, new and existing members, network with fellow Ambassadors as well as some professional development opportunities.

Benefits of Being an Ambassador:
As leaders in the business community, Ambassadors find their volunteer experience rewarding because of the opportunity to celebrate business growth in Thomas County, support the Chamber with their time, and expand their business potential through networking. During your tenure as an Ambassador, you will experience the following:
- Greater visibility for your business, with increased name and face recognition
- Opportunities to interact with new and existing businesses in the community
- Opportunities to help the community/show community pride
- Introductions to local business and community leaders via social media, The Business Connection Newsletter, and the Imagine Thomasville website
- A professional headshot
- Quarterly networking and professional development meetings exclusively for Chamber Ambassadors
- Special communication about new members and new businesses in our community
